Unveiling Masters in the City

03 December - 02 January 2025

Celebrating Miami's cultural evolution since the early 1990s alongside Opera Gallery's establishment in 1994, 'Unveiling Masters in the City' showcases an array of artistic masterpieces, honoring Miami's status as a cultural hub.

The inception of Art Miami in 1990 set the stage for a pivotal shift in the city's reputation, further solidified by Art Basel's debut in South Beach in 2002. Miami has since transcended its role as merely an Art Basel host, evolving into a year-round creative powerhouse. Its unique blend of Latin American influences and strategic location as a bridge between North and South America have propelled Miami to prominence in the global art world, supported by a vibrant gallery ecosystem, influential collectors, and a growing network of museums and cultural institutions.

Miami Art Week exemplifies the art world's finest attributes: nurturing community, challenging norms, and sparking meaningful dialogue through innovation. For over two decades, Opera Gallery has proudly contributed to both the enchantment of Miami Art Week and the city's broader cultural landscape.

This showcase features works by Karel Appel, Fernando Botero, Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Cho Sung-Hee, George Condo, Tony Cragg, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean Dubuffet, Juan Genovés, Philippe Hiquily, Alex Katz, Yayoi Kusama, Fernand Léger, Roberto Matta, Joan Miró, Julian Opie, OSGEMEOS, Pablo Picasso, Anselm Reyle, Jean Paul Riopelle, Antonio Saura, Kenny Scharf, Pierre Soulages, Frank Stella, Mickalene Thomas, Manolo Valdés, Bernar Venet, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann.

'Unveiling Masters in the City' serves as both a commemoration of Opera Gallery Group's 30th anniversary and a tribute to South Florida's creative community.
