Cristina Babiloni

Cristina Babiloni, born in 1981 in Castellón de la Plana, Spain, is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist of French and Spanish descent who lives and works in Castellón.

Although primarily known for her work as a visual artist, Babiloni is also a sculptor.

Her professional development as a psychologist complements her passion for her artistic career. Her artwork is strongly inspired by nature and the intricate connection between humans and the natural world. Her work is characterised by the prominence of matter and the diversity of formats. In her compositions she uses elements and substances more typical of the world of construction or the ceramic industry, following a work process that could be defined as “brutalist”, with a predominance of collage.

Her artistic style is marked by the use of vibrant and dynamic colour palettes that create immersive natural scenes, designed to provoke subjective connection, introspection and awareness of our interdependence with the environment. One of the central themes of her work is the fragility of ecosystems.

Babiloni has exhibited internationally, including solo shows in Madrid, New York, and Andorra, and her work has been featured in prestigious art fairs such as ARCO in Madrid. Her art has also been acquired by major private collections, such as the J.P. Morgan Chase Art Collection. Beyond her exhibitions, she has contributed artworks to various charitable foundations, furthering her commitment to humanitarian causes.

Her career as an artist and the seamless integration of her psychological insights into her art make Babiloni a singular voice in contemporary art to strengthen our bond with nature.
